Anna Omedes
Biologist, Director of the Museum of Natural Sciences of Barcelona
BSc in Biology by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and PhD in Animal Behaviour by the University College of Wales in the United Kingdom. In 2011 she was the author and coordinator of the project for the new headquarters of the Museum of Natural Sciences. Then in 2012 she co-curated and coordinated the 3,000 square meter permanent exhibition Planet Life. She is author of articles and book chapters and speaker at courses and conferences on museology, museography, science communication and bioacoustics.
Since 2017 she is President of the Spanish Association of Museums and Science and Technical Centers of Spain and from 2016 to 2020 Vice President of Ecsite (European Network of Sicence Centros and Museums). Member of the Board of the Catalan Council for Scientific Communication (C4), of the Scientific Council of Universcience de Paris, of the Advisory Board of the Natural and Cultural Heritage Campus of the University of Girona (UdG), of the Social Council of the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICS-ICM), of the International Committee of the World Biological Corridor, of the Monitoring Committee of the ADN Pyrenees project and of the Board of Trustees of the Barcelona Zoo Foundation.
