These are the gardens of the emblematic site of the former Hospital de la Santa Creu, which between 1401 and 1926 was the general hospital of the city of Barcelona. The gardens give access to various institutions related to knowledge, such as the Biblioteca de Catalunya, the Institut d'Estudis Catalans and the Royal Academy of Medicine of Catalonia.
