Helen Cole
PhD (BCN UEJ)
She specializes in urban health, health equality and community health. Based on the fields of sociology, critical geography and urban planning her research challenges the traditional perspectives of public health, questioning and assessing the long-term impacts that urban policy can have on social justice (for example, assessing possible environmental/green gentrification resulting from the greening of the city). Her current research explores whether healthier cities are also more equitable ones. In this way, it places health policy in a broad social and political context.
