The Martorell Exhibition Center was the first building built as a public museum in Barcelona and Catalonia (1882). The restored historic building is the second facility to be opened to the public as part of the Ciutadella Knowledge Hub, a great project that will turn the park and its surroundings into a node of knowledge, outreach, research and innovation at the forefront of Europe. Through its cultural offer, the Martorell Exhibition Center contributes to consolidate the scientific facet of the Ciutadella Park and to bring science closer to the citizens, by offering scientific exhibitions on topics with a strong social impact related to the climate and biodiversity crisis, as well as to the exploration of the current frontiers of knowledge.
