Pilar Zueras
PhD in Demography
She is a social demographer and researcher at the Centre for Demographic Studies (CED), at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). She is also a research associate at the Research Centre on Micro-Social Change (MiSoC) at the University of Essex, where she worked for two years at the Institute for Social and Economic Research. She has undertaken research stays at the Institut National d'Études Demographiques in Paris, at the University of Manchester and at the University of Groningen. Her research focuses on the study of population ageing and the well-being and health of the mature and elderly. She currently co-leads CED's Care of the Elderly research area and is co-principal investigator of CED's data dissemination infrastructure, the Social Explorer. She is lead researcher of the research and innovation project GranBCN - Social isolation and loneliness among older people in Barcelona.
