Michele Catanzaro

Science journalist

Professor of science journalism at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a journalist specializing in science. PhD in Physics, he contributes to outlets such as Nature, Science, and El Periódico. He is co-author of the book Networks: A Very Short Introduction (Oxford University Press, 2012) and of the documentary Injusticia Exprés: The Óscar Sánchez Case (2014), which won the Golden Nymph Award in 2015. He has received distinctions such as the King of Spain International Journalism Award, the European Science Writer of the Year 2016, the Prismas, the Colombine, the Holtzbrinck, and the Boehringer-Ingelheim awards. He coordinates the PerCientEx project on excellence in science journalism and takes part in the IACOM project on artificial intelligence and journalism. He has also been a Nature-Marsilius visiting professor at Heidelberg University.
