Helen Cole
Researcher in health equity and environmental justice
She is a senior researcher on a Banco Santander-TALENT fellowship at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA-UAB). Her work explores whether and how healthier cities can also become equitable, situating urban health interventions in the context of broader urban social and political environments. She is also deputy director and co-leader of two lines of research: urban environment, health and equity, on the one hand, and financialisation, housing justice and climate change at the Barcelona Lab for Urban Environmental Justice and Sustainability. She holds a PhD in Public Health from the City University of New York Graduate Center specialising in community, society and health and a Master of Public Health in Health Behaviour and Health Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
