Cristina O’Callaghan
Epidemiologist
She holds a master's degree in epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). She did her PhD in Medicine at the Barcelona International Health Centre (CRESIB-UB) and the Manhiça Health Research Centre in Mozambique (CISM). She is a lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), where she directs the UOC-UPF-ISGlobal Master in Planetary Health. Her research activity is oriented to study a wide range of environmental exposures (e.g. heat stress associated with climate change, urbanisation, pollution related to extractive industries) in association with non-communicable diseases, both in high-income and low- and middle-income countries from a Planetary Wellbeing perspective.
