Miriam Torres Moreno
Nutritionist specialized in metabolism
BSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics by the University of Barcelona (UB), BSc in Food Science and Technology by the UB and PhD in Nutrition and Metabolism (Interuniversity Program in Nutrition and Metabolism) by the University Rovira i Virgili (URV). Since 2004 she has been an associate professor at the University of Vic (UVic-UCC), where she currently teaches undergraduate and master's degree classes in the Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellness. In recent years she has dedicated her professional work mainly to management as coordinator of the Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, teaching in the same degree and research.
In terms of research, she has devoted the last few years to the study of the physical, chemical and sensory properties of foods, as well as to the study of the factors involved in the sensory perception and response of consumers. Throughout his research career he has carried out pre and postdoctoral research stays in national and international reference centers such as the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA-CSIC), the University of the Republic in Uruguay or the University of Nottingham. She has participated in national and international conferences, courses and seminars and is the author of numerous scientific articles, as well as articles aimed at the general public.
