Miquel Porta Serra
Medical Doctor, epidemiologist and expert in internal contamination
Medical Doctor and epidemiologist at the Hospital del Mar Research Institute (IMIM), Professor of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina (UNC) and New York University (NYU).
Editor of A Dictionary of Epidemiology (Oxford University Press, 2008 and 2014). He has been president of the Spanish Society of Epidemiology and of the European Epidemiology Federation. He has published several hundred research papers in internationally influential journals.
His first popular book, on the internal contamination of people, was entitled Vive más y mejor reduciendo tóxicos y contaminantes ambientales (Grijalbo, 2018). He is also editor of the work Los imaginarios colectivos, la salud pública y la vida. Para conversar desde las artes sobre nuestro bienestar en sociedad (Catarata, 2019).
