Marta Ruiz Costa-Jussà
Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the UPC, member of the TALP and IDEAl research groups
PhD by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). She has worked as a researcher at LIMSI-CNRS in Paris, at the Barcelona Media Innovation Center, at the University of Sao Paulo, at the Institute for Infocomm Research in Singapore, at the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico and at the University of Edinburgh. She is a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the UPC, a member of the TALP and IDEAl research groups, and leads the IDEAl-UPC machine translation research group.
She has published more than 100 scientific papers in international conferences and journals, including several articles in the prestigious Nature publishing group. She has recently received two Google Faculty Research Awards. She is currently leading the LUNAR project funded by the European Research Council, the aim of which is to investigate, using machine learning techniques, a universal representation of language.
