BSc and PhD in Biology by the University of Barcelona (UB). Senior researcher at the Institute of Agri-Food Research and Technology (IRTA, GIRO program) since 2012. He is currently responsible for the Environmental Microbiology laboratory and the Microbiome strategic initiative at IRTA. 

He has a wide scientific and professional experience with the aim of understanding microbial diversity, and its environmental contribution, in native complex microbial communities in different types of agrosystems, bioreactors, soils and aquifers.
