Montse Pont

A doctor of Physical Sciences for the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and the Higher Technical College in Stockholm. She worked on new materials in a UAB research group and later received one of the first grants to work on the design of the particle accelerator of a future synchrotron light source in Catalonia. In 1998 she took part in the design and construction of a synchrotron light source at Karlsruhe (Germany). In 2004 she joined the ALBA Synchrotron project, and since 2011 she has been head of operations of the accelerators.
