Jordi Piñero
A researcher at the Complex Systems Laboratory (UPF) and a member of the Institute of Evolutionary Biology (IBE). He has a degree in Physics from the University of Barcelona and a master’s in Theoretical Physics from Cambridge University. He works on the boundary between biology and complex systems physics and uses mathematical models to understand the most important transitions in evolution, such as the origins of the cell, the appearance of cognition and the behaviour of super-organisms, such as ant colonies or termite nests.
