Marta González

She is a professor of Physics at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). She studied physics at this same university, where she also studied for her PhD in the field of materials science. She worked at the Vrije Universitet Amsterdam on methods for the absorption of hydrogen, in order to use it as a clean fuel, and she later rejoined the UAB to work on ultrastable organic glasses, for possible uses in the pharmaceutical industry or organic electronics. Since 2000 she has combined her research with teaching physics, chemistry, nanoscience and nanotechnology, and materials engineering. She participates in the European project Diversity in the Cultures of Physics, aimed at giving physics students the necessary tools to be able to successfully continue their scientific career.
