THE DAY OF WOMEN IN BIOCOMPUTING
The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) proposes to generate a place where the citizens can learn about scientific research. On this visit, the young university students will see the research being carried out by female Biocomputing technicians of the BSC on topical subjects such as personalized medicine, genome analysis, natural language processing applied to medicine and the design of proteins for therapeutic uses.
With several 15-minute talks, the BSC wishes to forge and link with the young participants, encourage their interest and reinforce the professional initiation of more women in this fascinating area of science. Those in attendance will also be shown the Mare Nostrum, the most powerful supercomputer in Spain and the 25th in the world according to the TOP500 list updated in November 2018.
