Science for all: superfruits workshop
By Natalia de la Oliva Muñoz and Berta Giribet Bonet from the Spanish Association Against Cancer.
Fruits and vegetables, as well as being delicious, are very healthy. One of the reasons for this is their superpower! Discover their antioxidant power, which protects our cells from possible damage and thus helps us to prevent diseases such as cancer.
Science for all: DNA workshop
By Santiago Duro Sánchez, Marta Fernández Martínez and Laura Martínez Prat, Spanish Association Against Cancer.
DNA is the molecule that contains the genetic information of living beings, i.e. the instructions for the correct growth and division of their cells. Come and do an experiment to extract DNA from a banana, get to know this molecule better and learn about the scientific method.
Measure the pH of different drinks
By Meritxell Rovira, Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona (IMB-CNM-CSIC).
The pH is a measure that tells us how acidic or alkaline a substance is. Do you want to find out more about it? Do you know what the pH of the soft drinks you drink is? And what is the pH of water? Take part in this workshop and measure the pH of different drinks using ISFET sensors and reagents that act as indicators, and a computer programme to relate the results.
