Patricia García-Espín
PhD in political science specializing in citizen participation
PhD in Political Science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Master in History (UAB) and in Political Analysis from the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO) in Seville. She has developed her work as a technician at the Institute of Advanced Social Studies (CSIC) and is currently a postdoctoral researcher and professor at the UPO.
Her studies focus on non-electoral political participation, the limits of participatory democracy development and opinions around participation. She is particularly interested in inequality, obstacles and access to involvement. She addresses all these issues through different qualitative methods (case studies, focus groups, ethnography). She has recently published articles in journals such as Qualitative Sociology, Revista de Estudios Políticos, Revista Española de Investigaciones Sociológicas, Administration & Society or Política y Sociedad.
