Mònica Ubalde
Public health epidemiologist
She is a biologist by training and a public health epidemiologist. She is currently developing her research work in the Urban Planning, Environment and Health Initiative, within the air pollution and urban environment programme at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal).
She coordinates studies within national projects, such as Climate Shelters-UIA and We protect Schools-Barcelona, and international projects, such as proGIreg-H2020 and Athlete-H2020, to assess the impacts on health and well-being, environmental and personal exposures, use of public space and social cohesion of nature-based solutions and urban interventions in public spaces, with a special focus on school environments and children. It is also involved in studies involving health impact assessment, citizen science and knowledge translation.
