Mónica Méndez Lago
Political scientist and expert in survey methodology
BSc in Political Science and Sociology by the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), BSc in Data Collection and Analysis for the Social Sciences by the University of Essex and PhD in Political Science by the European University Institute of Florence. She is a professor of Political Science (on leave of absence) and technical advisor at the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (CIS), where she also served as Director of the Research Department.
She has coordinated surveys on different social and political topics, especially in electoral studies, directed to the immigrant population, on attitudes in relation to immigration and methodological studies. She coordinates the European Social Survey in Spain (since 2014) and the International Social Survey Programme (since 2005). She is the author of publications on the general methodology for conducting surveys and the methodological challenges of those aimed at the immigrant population, and the difficulties of measuring electoral behavior through surveys, among other topics.
