Irma Vilà i Òdena
Multimedia engineer, curator of art, science and technology, lecturer and researcher at the UOC
Multimedia engineer and Master in Curating Art and New Media. Researcher in art, science and technology. Member of the interdisciplinary research group Design, Art, Technology and Society (DART) and professor of Computer Science, Multimedia and Telecommunications at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), and co-director of the multimedia magazine Mosaic.
Trained in science and engineering, but vitally close to creative praxis and research in culture, she orchestrates and integrates international and hybrid projects of research in science, culture and curating. She co-founded the cultural innovation lab ZZZINC and has collaborated with Luthiers Drapaires, Telenoika and the CCCB, among other collectives and institutions. She has coordinated several exhibitions and activities at the Espacio Laboratorio del Arts Santa Mónica in Barcelona and at the ArtFutura festival among others. In addition to organizing conferences, workshops and symposiums such as Ars Electronica Garden Barcelona, the Neo Art, Science and Technology program at CosmoCaixa and the next International Symposium on Electronic Arts (ISEA) to be held in Barcelona in 2022.
