With a degree in Physics and a PhD in Science Education, she has been working for years at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) as a researcher and teacher trainer in the sci-tech field.

As a university professor, she teaches initial training for primary and secondary school teachers at undergraduate and master's levels, and directs the Master's Degree in Science Teacher Training. As a researcher, she has participated in more than 20 nationally and internationally funded research projects on different topics, including the competency perspective for science teaching and learning and the perspective of equity and gender in STEM education with values. In 2020 she was a member of the Expert Group defining the strategic vision of PISA 2025.
