Cristina Fillat
Biochemist and researcher in pancreatic cancer and gene therapy
BSc in Pharmacy from the University of Barcelona (UB) and PhD in Biochemistry from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). She has made several postdoctoral stays in the United States, at the Edison Animal Biotechnology Center (Athens, Ohio) and at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (New York), with research on transgenesis and gene therapy.
In 1995 she returned to Barcelona and joined the Instituto de Investigación Oncológica (ICO) as a researcher. In 2002 she moved to the Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG) where she created her own research group and in 2011 she joined the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS) as head of the Gene Therapy and Cancer group, with main interest in pancreatic cancer.
