Clara Cortina
Demographer and sociologist
BSc in Political Science and Administration and PhD in Demography by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Professor in the Department of Political and Social Sciences at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and member of the Demography and Sociology Research Group (DEMOSOC).
Her research focuses mainly on changes in contemporary dynamics of couple and family formation. She has participated in several national and international research projects devoted to the analysis of the implications of family changes in different areas: demographic patterns, social inequalities and gender relations. Recently she has also been interested in processes of gender discrimination in the labor market. In her research she adopts a quantitative perspective that combines demographic analysis with experimental techniques.
