Oriol Nel·lo

A geographer specializing in urban studies and territorial organization, issues about which he has published a large number of scientific books and articles. Educated at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (PhD in Geography) and at Johns Hopkins University (master’s in International Affairs), he has been the director of the Barcelona Institute of Metropolitan Studies (1988-1999), a deputy in the Parliament of Catalonia (1999-2003) and secretary for Territorial Planning of the Government of the Generalitat of Catalunya (2003-2011). He is currently a full member of the Institute of Catalan Studies and a professor of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
