DANCE, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PERFORMANCE

Hiroaki Umeda fuses contemporary dance with the new technologies, and presents his audio-visual productions in synchrony with his minimalist movements as a dancer on the stage.

Based on the physical nature of dance, Umeda generates soundscapes and visual digital abstractions, and reinterprets the intensional aspect in particles in his piece Intensional Particle. In Accumulated Layout he turns his body into an instrument, playing with the light and his movements. Two dance productions from one of the most successful creators in the avant-garde performing arts in Japan.
