NANOSCIENCE AND HEALTH
WHEN LESS IS MORE
A nanometre is one billionth of a metre. It’s hard to imagine isn’t it? Well, nanoscience, the study of the fundamental processes that take place in structures from 1 to 100 nanometres, can change our lives. Disciplines such as nanomedicine are designed to prevent, diagnose and treat diseases more efficiently at this scale, for example, designing treatments addressed to damaged tissues without harming the healthy ones.
Would you like to find out more about nanoscience and health? In this session you will be shown the results of the latest nanoscience research in applications ranging from nanotherapy (controlled release of drugs) to regenerative nanomedicine or nanorobotics. This session moderated by scientific journalist Cristina Sáez will completely change your perception of what is big and what is small.
