Ignasi Ribas

Director of the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC) and a researcher at the Institute of Space Sciences (ICE-CSIC). He is an expert in research into exoplanets and he takes an active part in instrumentation projects for the discovery and the characterization of new planets similar to the Earth, such as CARMENES, of which he is the principal investigator, and in the European Space Agency space missions CHEOPS, PLATO and ARIEL. He has been president of the Stars and Stellar Physics Division of the International Astronomical Union. He has published more than 180 pieces of research work in international journals.
