Carlos Tabernero Holgado

He has a PhD in Biology and is professor of the History of Science at the Centre for the History of Science (CEHIC) of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Before that, he worked as a molecular biologist at the National Cancer Institute in the United States and as a researcher into communication and technology at the Open University of Catalonia. His research and teaching are focused on the media (above all cinema and television), and on the processes of popularization and communication of science, medicine and technology in the 20th century. In all these areas, he has participated in several national and international research projects, he has coordinated seasons and schools of film, television, science and medicine in Spain and elsewhere, and published numerous books. His latest book, about cinema and medicine, is entitled Terapias de cine (2016).
